In 1989 the legendary restauranteur Osvi Niemi envisioned a new pontoon restaurant in Tampere, either in S\u00e4rk\u00e4nniemi or Laukontori.<\/p>\n
In 1991 the river barge SS 122, docked in Gothenburg at the Lindholmen dock, was bought. The ship was transferred to the Pansio dock for renovations. In the spring of 1992 the renovations were complete and the boat was renamed Suvi. The Suvi boat was transferred from Pansio to Nokia, where it was launched and moved to its current location at Laukontori. Its grand opening was held on the 14th of May, 1992. Since then the Suvi boat has been an essential part of the idyllic Laukontori and summer in Tampere.<\/p>\n
The Suvi boat opens in late April during the fishmarket and closes in early September.<\/p>\n
We serve fresh coctails, frozen schnapps, Suvi ciders, as well as hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks.<\/p>\n
That makes the Suvi boat the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy summer days by the water with an idyllic view.<\/p>\n
